Heater show: The sides of this metal cube are smooth, with a mesh grating on one side and an open door on the other.  Two teak-bound rhimar handles pretect the user from discomfort while the heater is in use.  The top holds a series of guide rails along its length.

Steps to using the chocolate heaters as given to me by Augie

>look in heater

In the center of the box sits a raised-edged circle perfectly sized for a votive candle, with a catch-basin below to drain off the melted wax.  The simple mechanism of a spring-loaded lever attached to a hide strip covers the air grate on the side of the box.  There is no candle votive in the chocolate heater.

>put votive in heater

You put your candle votive in the chocolate heater and twist until it is secured in the raised-edged circle in the base.

>look in heater

In the center of the box sits a raised-edged circle perfectly sized for a votive candle, with a catch-basin below to drain off the melted wax.  The simple mechanism of a spring-loaded lever attached to a hide strip covers the air grate on the side of the box.  A candle votive sits, ready for lighting, in the chocolate heater.

>look in mold

A square metal base with dimpled metal side bars supports the small mold.  Inside, an upper tier holds any unmelted material, and the fixture below features four impressions positioned to catch liquids dropping from above.  The mold has been designed to form a treat of a delicate rose in full bloom.  There is nothing in there.

>put mold on heater

You slide your blown glass mold into the grooves atop your chocolate heater and push it until you hear a quiet *snick* as it snaps into position.

>put chocolate in mold

You put your milk chocolate in your blown glass mold.

>close mold

You close the blown glass mold atop a gold-edged chocolate heater.

>light heater

You push a panel on the side of chocolate heater, and after a grinding scrape of stone against metal the candle votive bursts into flame!

>close heater

You close the small door on the side of your chocolate heater and turn the tiny latch to secure it into place.

Wait until the chocolate is melted.  Scripts given while the chocolate melts

Your chocolate heater warms the blown glass mold slowly from the flickering candle votive within, drawing air through a tiny grate to strengthen the flame.

There is the faintest shifting in your blown glass mold as the chocolate inside begins to warm and lose its shape.  A subtle whiff of sweetness teases through the air.

As the last bits of chocolate soften, a creamy, rich aroma of fresh milk chocolate escapes the blown glass mold to suffuse the air around you with mouth-watering sweetness.

Your chocolate heater is distinctly warm to the touch now and the blown glass mold quite hot.  Within, you can hear the sound of a slow, steady boil as the heady mixture of cream and cocoa aromas of milk chocolate grows stronger.

With the quiet *chink* of metal on metal, the steady intake of air through the grating in the side of your chocolate heater stops abruptly.  The strong aroma of rich milk chocolate lingers, and your chocolate heater, blown glass mold, and the chocolate within begin to cool.

Cool enough now to handle with ease, the mold sits quietly atop your chocolate heater, and as the last traces of warmth dissipate, the metal covering the tiny grate snicks open once more.  Only a faint tickling of chocolate sweetness escapes.  Finished at last!

If mold is opened too early

The chocolate heater has made your blown glass mold too hot to handle!  Perhaps you should wait until the chocolate has finished melting.

>open mold

You lift up the lid of a deep red blown glass mold of a rose in full bloom on your chocolate heater.

>look in mold

A square metal base with dimpled metal side bars supports the small mold.  Inside, an upper tier holds any unmelted material, and the fixture below features four impressions positioned to catch liquids dropping from above.  Resting atop a gold-edged chocolate heater, the mold has been designed to form a treat of a delicate rose in full bloom.  In the blown glass mold you see a milk chocolate treat, a milk chocolate treat, a milk chocolate treat and a milk chocolate treat.

>get treat from mold

You carefully work a milk chocolate treat of a delicate rose in full bloom free from the mold, and it pops out into your hand!

Each mold gives 4 treats, 4 bites each.  The mold must be taken off the heater to put the heater away.

In the Common language, it reads:

Celebrate the Day of Voaris and Laethe if you must, sing their laments of lost love and new love and love that is forbidden.

But, do not do it here.  Here is a place for love soured, love twisted, love turned...lost...not from death or circumstance, but from greed and hate, loathing and fear.

Do not celebrate here, but do rejoice for retribution is at hand.

In the Common language, it reads:

When love goes sour, there is but one thing to do...

...actually, in all honesty, there is more than one thing, but...

To have your lost love bent at your feet, laid low before you...that, THAT, is truly something to behold.

On the granite counter you see a dragonsbreath sapphire floral ring, a pair of azure blazestar stud earrings, a pink diamond heart pendant and a wide onyx and diamond square ring.

No pockets, show

a dragonsbreath sapphire floral ring (41.8k, fingerworn)

a pair of azure blazestar stud earrings (58k, worn from both ears)

a pink diamond heart pendant (44k, neckworn)

a wide onyx and diamond square ring (49.5k, fingerworn)

Sapphire ring show: The elegantly styled silver-banded ring has a golden blossom on its crest, with intricate filigree work in the six petals.  Set into the center of the blossom is an icy blue dragonsbreath sapphire, cut with a dome-like rose cut.

Blazestar earrings show: The natural slow pulsing scintillation of the azure blazestar has been set free in its faceted state.  The clearly visible magical fire and the glittering specks of blue dance within the earring’s stones, as though creating the miniature image of the sun having been plunged beneath the sea.

Diamond heart pendant show: Suspended from the end of a double silver chain is a sparkling pink diamond pendant sculpted into the shape of a heart.  The diamond heart is fastened to the chains by only one of its lobes, as if signifying a heart just barely hanging on to hope.

Onyx and diamond ring show: The thick mithril band of this ring has been squared into four flat surfaces on the outside.  Two opposite sides are inlaid with smooth, sleek black onyx, while the other two sides have been mounted with three square-cut white diamonds that are dazzlingly iridescent when held to the light.

In the thanot cabinet you see some teardrop violet feystone earrings, an opal-inlaid cedar jewelry box, a ruby and blue diamond cluster ring, a mithril chain amertrine necklace, a fiery golden trellis bracelet and a dragonfire emerald mithril neckchain.

No pockets, show

a dragonfire emerald mithril neckchain (48.5k, neckworn)

22k, not worn, holds very small, weighs 2, show

an opal-inlaid cedar jewelry box

Feystone earrings show: A pair of brilliant feystones glitter faintly as they are turned in light, giving an image like distant twinkling silver starlight just beginning to peek out of a sky of bright violet and dusky indigo.  The teardrop-shaped stones are able to swing freely from small pink seed pearls which head the post of the earrings.

Jewelry box show: The square jewelry box’s lid has been carved with a graceful symmetric leaf pattern.  The expert creamy opal inlay lining the pattern leaves a smoothly finished surface.

Cluster ring show: Eighteen small blue diamonds are arranged in a staggered geometric pattern around a singe oval-cut cherry red ruby.  The large ruby refracts even the faintest light brilliantly through its array of many tiny facets.

Amertrine necklace show: The necklace is formed with round mithril links, polished to a bluish silvery luster.  Nine pear-cut ametrines dangle at spaced intervals from the front of the necklace, their rich purples and bright golds blended as though dancing a different jig in each glassy stone.

Trellis bracelet show: Thin angular bands of pure gold criss-cross over each other around the circumference of the bracelet.  Set into each junction is a small polished firestone, with signature liquid crimson and black aspects that blend into the golden setting to create a very warm appearing piece of finery.

Mithril neckchain show: Brushed mithril links in the shape of small ingots connect the length of the neckchain.  Suspended from the center of the chain by a grasping mithril claw is a large square-cut dragonfire emerald, its characteristic faint crimson glow at the heart of its brilliant transparent green shifting almost imperceptibly slowly.

In the Common language, it reads:

These weapons are designed for dueling.  As such, all retain the standard properties of vultite and none have elemental properties.  A proper dueling set should consist of a matched pair of weapons in an appropriate case.  If of course you prefer to purchase a single weapon, the customer is always right and my staff would be happy to help you.

In the Common language, it reads:

This ticket puts you into a drawing.  The winner of that drawing will have the option to purchase the vambraces on the table for the cost of 975,000 silvers.  If you win and cannot pay, you will be used in a keg tossing competition and another winner will be chosen in a manner of Tinnoc’s choosing.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you do not purchase a ticket unless you can afford the total cost.

On the raffle table you see an extremely large notice, some black alloy arm vambraces, a warning sign, a raffle ticket barrel and some raffle tickets.

Vambraces show: Made of an odd sort of black alloy, the vambraces gives the odd appearance of something akin to ebon water trapped under glass.  Currents ebb and flow, light catching occasionally here and there causing odd variations in the shades trapped within.  The large guards may be worn with adjustable straps made of the same material, but give the distinct impression that it would be difficult to get a good fit without some additional assistance.  Other than the odd properties of the metal, nothing else stands out.

In the Common language, it reads:

Some obscure details about my wares:

Be aware when writing that the spoken and written word are closely linked.

You must have a quill to write, but it need not be a quill purchased here.  Inkpots are not necessary, as the pages have a magical element to them.

You may erase what you’ve written by CLEANing the page.

You may TEAR the page to *permanently* remove it from the book.

PUSH, TURN, and FLIP will allow you to work with the individual pages.

In the Common language, it reads:

~Welcome to My Shop~

My clerk, Qaril, can create a custom journal for you.  You need only to select a cover and a sheaf of pages from the bookcase.  (Each completed volume will have fifty pages.)  He can make five types of books (book, notebook, journal, volume, and folio), so be sure to ASK him about the one you are most interested in.

I will make myself available during the voyage to customize your creations further, though certainly, only you can take your blank volume and make it a masterpiece.

You are holding a sheaf of age-dark parchment in your right hand and a silver-worked black leather cover in your left hand.

>ask clerk about volume

“Yes, I can make a volume for you,” Qaril says amiably.  “Just make sure you’re holding the cover and the sheaf of pages you’ve selected.”  (ASK ABOUT VOLUME again within 30 seconds to proceed with your order.)

>ask clerk about volume

With a decisive nod, Qaril accepts the cover and sheaf of pages from you and places them carefully into the binding press on the counter, lining up the edges precisely and tightening the fittings.  He then takes a large jar of glue from the counter, dips a wide brush into it, and brushes glue along the edge of the pages, covering them with a thin strip of linen.  With a look of intense concentration, he then painstakingly folds over the flap of the back cover, and then the front, creating a perfect spine for the volume.  After allowing the glue to set for a brief time, Qaril removes the completed book from the press, and proudly hands it to you, handling it as delicately as a newborn babe.

(Workshop)

In the Common language, it reads:

Welcome to my little nook!  Whenever I’m around, here is where I can help you to customize any of my goods to the item (or items) of your dreams!  However, I have conveniently provided this sign to help clarify a few rules:

1. I only work on the items available from my shops.  I can certainly make you something you have seen elsewhere out of my own goods, but I only customize my own goods.

2. Many of the items available must remain what they are.  For instance, bodices, doublets, skirts, and underskirts must remain as such.  Gowns are a bit more flexibile, as they can be a gown, ballgown, kirtle, or dress.

3. Because of the way my clothing is designed to have sleeves, ribbons, buttons, laces, or underskirts laced on, I will only do customization within the 15/15/15 rule to them.  This applies to the accessories as well.  If you take my items to another merchant and they are fool enough to customize them with more elaborate work without removing the “magic” from them, you WILL lose the elaborate work done to the bodice or doublet as soon as you lace something onto it.  This is just the way my gnomish “magic” works.

4. In case you are confused as to how all of the clothing works, this is what can be done with each: bodices and doublets can have sleeves, laces, ribbons, OR buttons laced onto and off of them; gowns can have the same, as well as underskirts laced onto them; and skirt can have laces, ribbons, buttons, OR underskirts laced onto them.  Only one accessory can be on any at a time.

5. I do reserve the right to say no to your customization idea, so please don’t argue excessively.  Too much arguing is likely to make me throw you out on your ear.  I may be small, but trust me, I can do it!

6. Have fun!  I’m really not quite as much of an ogre as this sign makes me out to be.

Love and Kisses!

-Mavikia
