Events and Games

The village of Velathae offers numerous delights and wonders that will surely entertain visitors for hours. Several hosted games by one of the local ghostly residents will happen throughout the entire weekly event. Further, there are recent rumors on the wind of something forbidding happening throughout the village. Be sure to keep an eye out!

Orchard Games
The games in the orchard are varied and numerous as the apples that grow on the trees. Visitors beware, however, as the spirits of the orchard are a feisty bunch and are unpredictable. Bodily harm may occur.

Villa Macellarius
The old Villa Macellarius has been reported to have odd occurrences happening to it since the manifestation of the village. Visitors can explore the villa, but are cautioned to stay alert.

Winter Wren Estates
The wealthy inhabitants of Winter Wren Estates have not been heard from since the devastation to the village, however the ghostly residents of Velathae have talked about strange sightings within the community. Take a wander past the estates, and knock on a door or two--you may get an answer.

The Great Barrow
Entrance into the great barrow under Tower Hill was expressly prohibited during the living years of the village. However, since the recent manifestation, the seals that blocked off entrance into the great barrow have gone missing. The local ghostly officials have stated that visitors may explore the insides of the barrow, but they will not be held accountable for anything that may happen to those that stray inside.

Jousting
Set aside from the orchard, the old farmer’s field is now host to a spectacular supernatural event--ghost jousting. Ride on an enchanted, ghostly horse against your foe and unseat them to find glory!

Glossy oil painting show: Rows of apple trees, their lush, leaf-covered branches arching overhead, stretch out as far as the eye can see.  Moss and leaf litter covers the ground below, and a number of children can be seen running about and laughing in play.

Simple oil painting show: The painting depicts the town of Velathae itself, with Tower Hill featured prominently at its center.  Artisans and craftsmen bustle up and down the streets, going about their daily lives, while visitors stroll more slowly through the town, taking in the sights.

Bordered oil painting show: A low granite boulder stands in the forefront of the picture, its surface covered with the blackened lines of old carvings.  In the distance, a black obelisk thrusts up against the sky beside the bulk of a great circular tower, and a worn track spirals towards a dazzling sun-dappled cliff face.

Detailed oil painting show: A produce cart piled high with a variety of fruits and vegetables stands in front of a large, black iron gate.  A hawker stands to the side, offering a sparkling red apple to a small child.  Behind the gate lie a number of respectable buildings, each with its own meticulously tended lawn.

Colorful oil painting show: Down the middle of this picture winds a smoothly paved stone road with a large meadow to the right of it.  Behind the meadow stand a number of brick and wood homes.  To the left of the road, several barrels of apples line a neat white fence that stretches into the distance.

On the steel rack you see a small fuzzy brown toy bear, an oversized shaggy toy puppy, a tiger-striped fluffy toy kitten, a bright pink yarn poppet, a jade-inlaid carved maoral mug, a scuffed and marred pewter mug, a multicolored ceramic mug, a polished bronze mug, a dirty toy rolton and a wide-brimmed straw hat.

a pewter apple tree miniature

a brass two story inn miniature

a steel tower miniature

Ruic-based snowglobe show: The clear bubble contains a detailed scene in miniature.  A river branches and then flows back together again, creating a small island, with small stone bridges spanning the river on both sides of the islet.  A prosperous-looking inn stands in the middle, with a uniformed dwarf at the door.  Near the inn is a tower of grey and white marble that stands quite tall within the bubble world, encircled by a winding stair.  Tiny dwarves throng the area.

Modwir-based snowglobe show: The clear bubble contains a detailed scene in miniature.  Tiny halflings dressed in varying fashions stand about, appearing to be engaged in lively conversation, while others recline on cloaks laid on the ground.  One ancient halfling leans against the base of a large ice statue of a mule, taking a nap.  A halfling abbess and a halfling wizard stand at the edge of a small crowd gathered around an injured giantman.

Maoral-based snowglobe show: The clear bubble contains a detailed forest scene in miniature.  At the forest’s edge is a small clearing with a pool of water, fed by a tiny stream.  Near the pool, two stone pillars mark the entrance to a peaceful sanctuary.  A small shrine containing an altar is lovingly carved out of silvery haon.  A small group of tiny people take their rest, while a miniature cleric kneels in meditation.

Yew-based snowglobe show: The clear bubble contains a detailed scene of a grand plaza in miniature.  The plaza is paved with a spiral pattern of alternating terra-cotta and golden-yellow bricks.  On one edge of the plaza stands an ornate, white arch, and beyond it is a brick-paved avenue of elaborate temples, stretching to a towering city wall.  A steady mix of tiny merchants, artisans, and clerics pass through the arch in both directions.

Oak-based snowglobe show: The clear bubble contains a detailed scene of a town square in miniature.  Bazaar shops surround the square, and throngs of tiny people of all races mill about, many of them adventurers by their looks.  At one end of the square is the town well, with a giant oak tree towering over it.  Partially hidden among its branches is a tree house platform.  Stone benches scattered around the square provide a place for the townspeople to rest, and some of them appear to be healing the wounded.

On the oak shelf you see a neatly inked vellum map, a smudged parchment map, a faded hand-drawn map, a torn and ragged map, a striated pink and white rose, a stunning dark purple iris, a pink-tipped soft white rose, a lavender purple-tongued orchid and a large candy bowl.
