Event Premise

Taken from the FESTIVAL verb, “Delegates from the various areas and races have gathered together at Coraesine Field in a diplomatic summit, with the aim of establishing better foreign and trade relations.  At the center of the grounds is one large point of contention -- a spire of rock, heavily laced with coraesine, which each delegation wants to claim.  Who will get the coraesine?  How will the discussions of trade pan out?  Is there really any chance for advances to take place within the bustle of commerce and festival-like activities accompanying this entire production?   Invited guests are welcome to wander Coraesine Field and discover for themselves the various wares, pavilions, artistry, and personalities that make up one corner of Elanthia.”

In addition, the following teaser was posted by GM Itzel:

“Well, currently the pavilions are going up for each delegation. The representatives from the Elven Nations have asked to be as far from the Dark Elven faction as possible, and the Half Krolvin have set up their Klinast Gather smack in the middle of things. There’s some trouble brewing within the Forest Gnome pavilion (no one can really tell them apart in there, so it’s all chaos) and an “unfortunate miscalculation” caused the front of the Burghal Gnome pavilion to go up briefly in flames. The Ger of the Halflings has been erected, as has the elevated platform of the Sylvankind. The other races haven’t arrived yet, but rumor has it the Imperial Envoy is already displeased with the very notion of their non-central location. They plan to petition.  In the midst of it all, of course, is the rock and the coraesine. But that’s just another set of issues altogether...”

Services Information

CCF will be a service-oriented event.  Merchants and services will be available primarily between the opening and Sunday night of each run, with all high end services going out during that time.  Services will be given in a variety of ways, including auctions, raffles and other methods.  Those raffles and auctions that do take place will be almost entirely for services.  More information on the schedule of auctions and raffles will be posted on the forums and in the FESTIVAL verb before the start of the run.

All raffles will also be open when the event begins, so attendees can enter the ones they’re interested in from the beginning and not worry about missing one.  You can be logged in and AFK while a raffle draws and still win (though being available is preferred).  GM Kaikala has also stated that if a person is around during the merchant-heavy period, the chances are high that they will receive at least one service.

When entering raffles, make sure you LOOK at the tickets to see what they are for, how much they will cost and how long until they draw.  Sometimes there are multiple drawing in one area, so make sure you specify which tickets you’re dealing with (such as ‘look ticket on second table’).

Your first non-’general’ service will be discounted up to a million silvers.  If you give your slot away to another character, it still counts as your first service.  If you have not gotten a non-’general’ service by the end of the merchant-heavy period, you can choose one service from those listed as ‘somewhat limited,’ ‘limited,’ or ‘just-a-little-less limited,’ but you will pay 150% the base silver cost.  Several services will be discounted during the Plat run.  Check with the merchant to see if it is the case for the service they are offering.

Some services will be restricted to one of that service per person.  These include services such as morphing tattoos and snake flares, and apply even if someone wins a service by both raffle and auction.  A few very high end services will also be restricted to one per person.  These are the major services.  Unless specified otherwise such as major wins and services with one per character, a character may win as many raffles and/or auctions as they can afford and are chosen for.

Some merchants for the more common services (general alters, lightening, deepening) may only work for members of certain races or cultures.  These merchants will not be the only ones to provide that specific service, however.  Special services, aside from profession-specific services such as demonology runes, companion grooming and sonic alters, will be available to everyone.

Sirina has posted that services cannot be transferred between characters on an account, so it is suggested that you bring the character you want to win the services, and not enter for services you can’t use.  Also, make sure your items are ready to be worked on immediately.  You may wish to use a sarmoc potion to remove a temper on certain enchanting projects.

a carved dark modwir mug

an amber-set heavy golden mug

an engraved heavy pewter mug

a bone-handled white oak mug

an etched dark glaes mug

a burnished silver mug

a hammer-etched enruned glaes mug

Opaque mithril mug show: The mug’s only embellishment is its handle, which loops about itself several times, resulting in an intricate braid.  A small sigil is visible within the widest of the braids, however, the marking is difficult to decipher into something legible.

Dark modwir mug show: The thick, polished mug has been carved with an image within a double-rimmed circle.  The foreground of the scene shows a handaxe sticking from a fallen trunk, while the background depicts a field of wheat rolling on the winds of an impending storm.  The words, “Maeramil Wind Runner Clan” have been minutely carved into the smooth wood under the circle.

Heavy golden mug show: The mug has been etched with a scene depicting a giantman whose arms are reaching up toward the sun, its rays extending sinuously across the sky.  The words, “Araime Sun Clan” are engraved directly below the image.

Heavy pewter mug show: The heavy mug has been skillfully engraved with the image of a giantman warrior wrestling bare-handed with a bear.  The stamped words below the image read, “T’Kirem Bear Clan.”

White oak mug show: The bone-handled white oak mug is carved with the image of a huge, cloaked giantman with a wounded wendigo reaching up to the moon behind him.  The words “Wsalamir Arctic Clan” are tooled below the scene.

Dark glaes mug show: The tall mug has been skillfully etched with the image a wolf shrouded in a shadowy forest.  The amber-inlay of the wolf’s eyes creates a striking contrast against the dark glaes.  Deeply incised letters below the etching read, “Grishknel Wolf Clan.”

Burnished silver mug show: The mug has been crafted of solid silver and burnished to a smooth shine.  A single uncut ruby adorns the square-edged handle.  The words “Issimir Ogre Clan” are etched around the base of the vessel.

Enruned glaes mug show: The heavy mug has been made from crimson glaes and engraved with Saramar runes around the lip.  A pair of crossed battle hammers have been deeply etched on the front of the vessel.  Below the etching, the words, “Grot’karesh Hammer Clan” stand out in darker lettering.
