Welcome to my cheese shop!

Throughout the duration of the winter caravan I will be popping in to provide specialty cheeses for your family, group or clan

Enjoy!

On the sanded wooden counters you see a button of soft herbal cheese, a round of red wax-covered cheese, some green-striated cheese, some waxy bright orange cheese, a block of pepper-crusted cheese, some square chile-dusted cheese and a sharply cut slice of hard cheese.

Properties unknown, contain spells, show

a button of soft herbal cheese (6k, 603, 15 bites)

a round of red wax-covered cheese (6k, 103, 15 bites)

some green-striated cheese (6k, 113, 10 bites)

some waxy bright orange cheese (7k, 202, 16 bites)

a block of pepper-crusted cheese (7k, 102, 20 bites)

some square chile-dusted cheese (7875, 602, 15 bites)

a sharply cut slice of hard cheese (6k, 401, 20 bites)

Soft herbal cheese show: The small cylinder of cheese is thumbnail-impression soft.  Its white color is flecked with green and brown, pieces of the dried herbs mixed into its body.  Pressed into the top of the button is a single sprig of rosemary.

Wax-covered cheese show: The simple round of cheese is covered in a thick layer of hardened wax.  Stamped into the shell is the frontal visage of a horned bull.

Green-striated cheese show: Thick bands of green mark the white meat of the cheese.  The contrast is sharp.

Bright orange cheese show: The bright cheese is almost unnaturally orange.  Its texture is smooth, its lustre waxy, and its top carved with the faint image of a star.

Pepper-crusted cheese show: Covering the soft white cheese is a coating of peppercorns.  Pink, black, green, and red comingle, forming a pebbled crust

Chile-dusted cheese show: A sprinkle of chili powder coats the cheese.  The reddish-black substance is little more than a dusting laid over a soft white square.

Slice of hard cheese show: The cheese has a hard paper and wax rind.  Its body is equally hard.  The cheese is cut into a thin triangular slice from which the tip has broken away.

In the glass cases you see a red square of soft dessert cheese, a half-round of yellow cheese, a slender slice of blue cheese, some blue-veined cheese, a scored brick of yellow cheese, a wet lump of milky white cheese and a crumbly piece of white cheese.

Properties unknown, contain spells

a red square of soft dessert cheese (6330, show, 114, 10 bites)

a half-round of yellow cheese wrapped in waxed red paper (11250, 507, 15 bites)

a slender slice of blue cheese (6k, show, 101, 20 bites)

some blue-veined cheese (12k, show, 107, 20 bites)

a scored brick of yellow cheese (10k, 503, 20 bites)

a wet lump of milky white cheese (13740, show, 506, 20 bites)

a crumbly piece of white cheese (8.8k, show, 406, 16 bites)

Soft dessert cheese show: Carved into a perfect square, the bright red cheese has a sticky, tactile quality.  It is of a middling hardness -- not quite soft and not truly hard.

Slice of blue cheese show: The cheese is a thin square slice, white, with a pale bluish cast.  A few flecks of darker blue mark its surface.

Blue-veined cheese show: Twining veins of sapphire blue mold wend here and there throughout the cheese.  They split into thinner capillaries, spread into a network of fine striations of flavoring.

Milky white cheese show: The surface of the white cheese is dewy with perspiration.  Beads of milky liquid collect on the rindless lump.

Piece of white cheese show: Barely held together, the crumbly cheese has little cohesiveness.  It is comprised of many smaller pieces of equally crumbly cheese.  The entire enterprise is a study in abstract design -- and cheese.

On the silver tray you see a three-tined silver cheese fork, a chunk of rock-hard cheese, some gelatinous red quince paste, some wrapped blue cheese, a half-dome of salty white cheese, a flat disk of marbled orange cheese, a sphere of milk-white cheese, a squat cube of purplish cheese and a bulb-handled short cheese knife.

1k, not worn, no pockets, functional, show, has something written on it

a half-dome of salty white cheese (9k, show, 604, 20 bites)

a flat disk of marbled orange cheese (10k, show, 511, 10 bites)

a sphere of milk-white cheese (15k, show, 905, 20 bites)

a squat cube of purplish cheese bound with black twine (9.5k, 414, 10 bites)

Fork show: The dark silver tines protrude from a slender ebonwood haft.  A band of red separates the metal and wood.

Knife show: The short knife has a triangular blade and an oversized haft.  A band of black separates the metal and wood.

Red quince paste show: Firm but almost shapeless, the paste is a quivering mass of dark red.  Inside its jellied, translucent bulk are a few scattered seeds.

Salty white cheese show: Tiny specks of sea salt gleam through the otherwise dull white cheese.

Marbled orange cheese show: Streaks of white marble the cheese, twined through the orange disk like veins of fat in flesh.

Milk-white cheese show: Molded into a faintly bulbous sphere, the cheese is the color of fresh milk -- creamy yellowish-white.  Its surface is rindless and elastic.

You tap a tiny pale winter rose.

>get rose

You reach down and pluck a tiny blossom out of the patch of winter roses. (pinworn, no pockets, weighs less than 2)

Observed scripts

Push while held: You cautiously turn the rose about in your fingers, casting an appraising eye to its stem.  Upon finding a thorn, your search ends and you purposefully snag a fingertip on its point.  A rounded swell of blood rises from the wound.

Rub while held: Tracing a fingertip along the stem of your rose, you manage to prick your finger on a thorn.  As you watch, a plump bead of crimson wells against the skin.

Smell while held: Cupping the blossom of the rose in the cradle of your hands, you bring the flower to your face and inhale deeply of its intense and heady fragrance.

Tap while held: As if in thought, you tap the edges of the rose’s petals against your lips and gaze silently into the distance.

Touch while held: You caress your fingertips over the face of the rose, contemplating in silence the velvety soft sensation of the petals beneath your touch.

Touch while worn: You brush your fingertips along the rose's petals, marveling in silence at their softness.

Wear: You tuck the stem of your rose behind your ear, making certain that it is snug and secure.

Pull while worn: You pull the rose from behind your ear to adjust its positioning.  As you move to push it back into place, you carelessly scrape your brow on one of the stem’s many thorns.  A thin trickle of blood tickles its way across your skin.
